Matilda came to the shelter as a stray. She is very sweet and happy to see people. She is okay with most other dogs if introduced properly but may do best with male dogs. Matilda loves attention and would be a great companion. She loves to ride in the car. Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: Brown Age: 5yrs 0mths 2wks Animal has been Spayed

 . Susie .
 . Susie .
  • Labrador Retriever, Boxer
  • Spayed/Neutered
Susie came to the shelter as a stray...over and over and over. Her owner would come get her and we would talk to about keeping her on his property so she wouldn't get hurt etc. We also talked about the importance of spay and neuter and offered to spay her at no charge through our spay and neuter program but he refused. After her forth visit to the shelter it was obvious Susie had recently been nursing and her owner confirmed she had puppies but he would not be coming to get her this time (puppies were weaned)- all we can hope is that her puppies found loving homes that will keep them safe. Susie is a very sweet girl that is fine with other dogs. She is housebroken and walks fairly well on a leash. Susie will need a fenced yard. Susie is calm and relaxed in most situations and would make a great companion. Primary Color: Tan Secondary Color: White Age: 5yrs 2mths 2wks Animal has been Spayed

 . Crissy .
 . Crissy .
  • Hound
  • Spayed/Neutered
Crissy is an 8 year old Cattledog/Hound mix while Molly is a 10 year old lab mix. These girls have been through a lot together and we would like them to live their lives out together in the perfect home. Crissy and Molly lived with one owner most of their adult lives. He passed away roughly 8 months ago and a family friend agreed to take the two girls to avoid them being sent to the shelter. Their previous owner lived in Florida so the girls were transported from Florida to Kentucky to settle in with the family friend. Unfortunately, just as these girls were settling and really starting to get comfortable again the new owner accepted a new position with her job and was transferred to Texas and did not plan to take the two senior girls with her so they were surrendered to our facility. These girls are very easy going, Molly is very sweet and happy to see everyone, Crissy can be a bit shy at first but will quickly approach for attention, Crissy just isn't as excitable as Molly. Both are very mild mannered and are fine with other animals. As far as we know they are housebroke, Molly had a lipoma (fatty growth) removed from her leg when she was spayed but there is no need for any additional treatment. Crissy had a large wart taken off her ear when she was spayed but again, there is no need for additional treatment. These girls have been given a clean bill of health and are just looking for the perfect family to love them and give them the stability they are desperate for. . Gator .
 . Gator .
  • American Staffordshire Terrier
  • Spayed/Neutered
Gator came to the shelter after he was removed from his previous owner for neglect. Gator was extremely thin and was left outside in the freezing cold. He has fully recovered (and then some) and is doing well. He is a big love and would be a great buddy for the right person. In general, he does not get along well with other male dogs but seems to do okay with females. He is very gentle and affectionate with people but may be too much for small children but he is easily excited and will jump. He doesn't realize his size. He likes toys and treats and absolutely loves his bed- he is a bit of a lazy boy. Gator will need a home without cats. Primary Color: White Secondary Color: Black Age: 3yrs 5mths 0wks Animal has been Neutered

 . Ellie .
 . Ellie .
  • Labrador Retriever, Pit Bull Terrier
  • Spayed/Neutered
Ellie was surrendered to the shelter because her owner moved and could not take her with him. She is a sweet girl but can be shy/nervous at first and it may take her a bit to warm up to new people. Once she is comfortable Ellie is very affectionate. She is okay with other dogs but will need a home without cats or small children. SPECIAL NOTES -No Cats -No Children under 12 years old Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: White Age: 9yrs 9mths 0wks Animal has been Spayed
